My love for Arrested Development

It’s crazy how some TV shows get cult followings after they’ve been canceled, like “Arrested Development.” But I can completely understand how this can happen with DVD sets of TV series. That’s how I got completely caught up on the show a few years ago after it went off the air.

During a Thanksgiving holiday I was at an uncle’s house and somehow managed to be lucky enough to have control over the living room TV’s remote control. My viewing options included football and an “Arrested Development” marathon, and I’m not a big football fan. So I left the TV show on and for a few hours while my family talked I pored over Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) as he tried to clean up after his insane, amoral family.
After that holiday I was lucky to catch a few other marathons of the show on random DIRECTV channels. My favorite part of watching is seeing how the awkward persona that Michael Cera is always characterized as was established.

Even though I’ve finished all three seasons, I watch an episode on Netflix with my Wireless Internet Service every now and then in preparation for the “Arrested Development” film that’s been announced for 2011.
As for now I’ll just keep saying accidentally inappropriate Tobias quotes until another wave of fandom for the show sweeps through in the wake of the movie.
